Rose has worked as a children's visual art educator in Adelaide for over a decade. Since 2018 she has returned to her own art, working in various mediums including acrylic, watercolour, pastel and graphite. Rose loves working with value and light, investigating how they work together to create form on flat surfaces. The process of capturing detail in her art she finds to be highly immersive and calming. Florals, birds, cats and still life arrangements are her preferred subjects as they contain seeds of childhood moments or provide value study challenges. In 2022 Rose entered her first exhibition 'Celebration of Colour' at the Port Community Arts Centre Fringe exhibition and was awarded 'Best Work on Paper' for her pastel piece titled Blossoms. |
