I grew up on a grazing/cropping farm in south-east South Australia before heading to Adelaide in my teens to complete my formal education at Concordia College. I loved art at school but my work, family and life in general took time away from any artistic pursuits. With the encouragement of friends and family I rediscovered the “enjoyment of creating” at the tender age of 52. Watercolour and particularly pastels are my favourite mediums. Nature with its quirky creatures, vibrant colour and endless diversity is what I like to capture in my art. With no formal training and some apprehension, I commenced classes with Larissa Fraser and refound my love and enjoyment of art. Larissa is my mentor and friend who has guided, encouraged and given me the confidence to “put myself out there” and see what people think. So, please let me know what you think. |
