Painting the Spirit of Ancient Cities
I was born in Tallinn (Estonia), the fabulous medieval city on Baltic Sea. I was surrounded by ancient fortresses, narrow streets, mysterious old buildings, and gothic churches. It seemed, that fairy-tales and ghosts were still living in the Old Tallinn...
When I settled in Australia I fell in love with this beautiful land, which inspired me to create and find new ideas and experiments. But my hometown and other parts of medieval Europe have always lived in my heart. They’ve become favourite subject of my artworks. I try to show the character and mood of unique world of antiquity, which is full of legends, mysteries and charm…
For my paintings I use deep colours of acrylic, free style, and mixture of reality, my imagination and hints of fairy-tales.
